It is Man's nature to dream of the impossible. Sometimes what was previously deemed impossible becomes possible, but often what we hanker after are just pipe dreams and pies in the sky. Religion has many functions. One of the functions is to satisfy the need to dream of the impossible. The more stupid a person is, the more he believes in the impossible.
Smarter and more informed humans demand hard, incontrovertible, empirical evidence and logical, rigorous thinking before believing in any myth or doctrine. Tell me what you believe in, and I will tell you where you are on the path of evolutionary development as a human being.
While it may be comforting to be stupid and part of the multitudes of ignoramuses and slaves, a real, authentic human being knows the values of Knowledge and acts accordingly.
