An Exchange about Honesty and Compassion

Honesty in all activities  is the best policy: intellectual, emotional, and social. Be true to yourself and others. Never be a phony.

Don't be a small hypocrite: condemn others what we feel bad about ourselves. Each one of us is burdened with some degree of inferiority complex and resultant cover-up and compensatory mechanisms.

Open your heart and mind to honesty and facts and truths.

But in the end, we can only understand those on the same level as ours or lower, never those who are superior to us. Don't let stupid Pride or Ego stand in the way of understanding and enlightenment. If people disrespect us, chances are we ask for it. Be fair in judgment.

Reach for the stars with feet firmly on the ground so we won't stumble and fall into an abyss of our own making.

By all means, fall in love over and over again, with your eyes wide open.

***Thanks for the reply but it left me a bit concerned -so I am sending this note.

I do not and never will support Trump and I don't feel that those that do support him are any better or smarter than me.
Are there people that are more intelligent than I? of course. Am I making a thing of things? Maybe, but I want it clear that I do not support him, his views or his actions.

You and yours be well,

Nobody can bring you peace but yourself.

***It's not the question that people who support Trump are smarter than you or me. Some are and some are not. Views about politics and religion reflect not only intellectual acumen and native intelligence, but also deep-seated values and emotional make-up.

As I often said, honesty---intellectual, emotional, and social, is the best policy. Honesty to oneself and others. In the end, facts and truths triumph over falsehoods and compensatory cover-ups/rationalizations. Just because we think we are smart and well-informed, but if there are no substantiating facts to back up our self-conception, then we are just loud-mouthed and shameless jackasses and buffoons.
